Fable has two ways to share: a public link that lets anyone read one document, and email invitations that bring people into a project to work with you.
Public Share Links
A public link lets anyone read a document in their browser โ no Fable account needed.

What People See
The link opens a read-only web page with the document's title and formatted text. It always shows the latest saved version of the document. Your project, collaborators, other documents and edit history are not shown. Images and other media aren't included on the shared page.
Shared pages are kept out of search engines, so a link is only seen by people you send it to.
Stopping Sharing
Open Share document again and click Stop sharing. The link stops working right away. If you share the document again later, Fable creates a new link. Archiving the document, or archiving or deleting its project, also turns off its links.
Only the project owner can create or stop public links.
Inviting People by Email
To work on a project together, invite people by email from the collaborators dialog. Choose a role โ Editor or Viewer โ and send the invitation. They get an email and can join with one click. If they don't have a Fable account yet, they get access automatically when they sign up with that email address.
By default, new members don't see the document history from before they joined; you can change this when you invite them.
Owners and editors can invite people. Only the owner can change someone's role or remove them from a project. See Working Together for more on real-time collaboration.
Roles
| Role | Can do |
|---|---|
| Owner | Everything โ edit, invite, change roles, remove members, create public links, manage billing |
| Editor | Make AI edits (typed or spoken), create and import documents, paste content, apply assistant proposals, accept or reject suggestions, invite people |
| Viewer | Read, leave suggestions (typed or spoken), ask the project assistant, export |
Roles apply to the whole project: an invited person can access every document in it.
