Search
Press Cmd+F (or Ctrl+F on Windows) to open the search dialog. Search across all your accessible projects and documents — results appear instantly as you type, grouped by project.
Each result shows a snippet of matching text so you can find exactly what you're looking for without opening every document. Use the arrow keys to navigate results and Enter to jump straight to a document. Press Esc to close.
Search is scoped to your account, so you only see results from projects you have access to.
Paste with Voice
Fable has a unique paste workflow. When you paste content into a document — a link, some text, an image, or HTML — a modal appears showing a preview of what you pasted.
From there, you can record a voice instruction explaining what to do with it. Fable combines your pasted content with your instruction and applies an intelligent edit to your document.
For example:
- Paste a Wikipedia article and say "Incorporate the key facts into the background section"
- Paste a URL and say "Add this as a reference and summarize what it's about"
- Paste an image and say "Describe this image in the opening paragraph"
Fable automatically detects the content type — plain text, URLs (with title and description preview), HTML, images, and video links — so you can paste from anywhere and it just works.
Export
Export your work in five formats:
- Markdown (.md)
- Plain text (.txt)
- Word document (.docx)
- PDF (.pdf)
- HTML (.html)
You can export a single document or all documents in a project at once. Files are saved to a folder you choose on your machine — nothing is uploaded anywhere.
When exporting multiple documents, a progress indicator shows which document is being exported.
